To that end, Newton provides teachers with 4-5 hours of pre-program training so that they can become more comfortable with Newton’s instructional program. The training allows teachers to see Newton’s program in action, as well as provides focused training on grading assessments, organizing materials, and modeling lessons.

Newton’s professional development program is designed not only to support Newton’s instructional program, but also to provide teachers with instructional strategies they can use during the regular school day. These strategies include teaching English language learners, using manipulatives to teach mathematics, and emphasizing the value of shared reading in the classroom.
