| In what grades are your
services offered? |
 |
| Newton Learning’s
SES program is available to students in grades K- 8. |
 |
| How
will student progress be reported to the school and to parents? |
 |
At the beginning of the program, students
take a Newton Learning Pre Assessment. This diagnostic report is
the basis of the Individual Achievement Plan (IAP) developed for
each child. Newton Learning also provides parents with progress
reports that identify how closely students are meeting identified
goals, as outlined in each student’s IAP. These reports will be
given to the student’s parent or guardian.
At
the end of each program, parents receive an end-of-program report
and partnering schools receive a detailed summary of each student’s
achievement results. |
 |
| How many hours of
programming does Newton offer? |
 |
| Newton’s SES program
hours range from 60 to 80 hours, depending on the funding available
from each district. |
 |
| What programs, materials,
and instruction strategies are used for delivery of services? |
 |
Newton’s core
academic program consists of three components:
- Skill Solver lessons
- Focus Mini-lessons
- School Connection
Skill solver
lessons are the core of Newton Learning’s SES program. Each Skill
Solver lesson is built around inquiry-based instruction and
cooperative group learning work so that students are active
participants in the learning process. Lessons in Skill Solver units
are tailored to and aligned with each state’s academic standards.
In addition to the
Skill Solver units, Newton’s Focus Mini-Lessons provide targeted
instruction on specific skills and allow practice with the format
and vocabulary commonly found on standardized tests.
During School
Connection, tutors provide instruction and support based on the
curriculum that is being taught during the regular school day.

are programs managed at the site level? |

program and to monitor program quality.

oversees four to six programs within a particular community. |
 |

results? |
 |

generally has at least 60 hours of college credit or experience as a
paraprofessional in an existing school. |
